Our in-house artist Morgan Seaford hand-paints unique and personal designs onto D&Ds. Each Morgan design has a story behind it, and we wanted to share
with you the story of one of our clients and the meaning behind his design, as well as the process of Morgan creating the artwork from start to finish.
Morgan begins with a client consultation to see what elements they would like the design to incorporate and what the artwork would represent. As Cody is getting married in November, he wanted bespoke shoes that would have sentimental meaning for himself and his future wife. His last name means snake in German and his fiancees middle name is Rose, so he wanted the image to incorporate both of those, hence the snake and the rose on the left shoe.
For the right shoe Cody chose a 1960's Chevrolet. This car means a lot to him and his family as it's the first car his grandparents bought when they moved to the United States from Germany in the 50's and it was the first thing they were able to own in New York, so it has come to symbolise the fresh start for him and his family. Morgan sketched a few designs of the car for Cody to choose from and he decided on the final design of the car on the left, which became the second half of the artwork.
On the back of the shoes, Cody wanted date of his wedding as well as his late father in law's initials hand-painted as a remembrance to him. Cody was delighted with his shoes and loved being able to wear something so personal which allowed him to have part of his family and heritage with him on his wedding day. We thank him for allowing us to share his story and wish him the best of luck with the future!
