Behind the Plus Court Sneaker
It’s almost a year since we introduced our Plus Duke Sneaker: the silhouette to mark the new era of DUKE + DEXTER.
In that time, we’ve iterated and iterated, building a collection of colour, fabric and texture. Every product sample, every fabric swatch, every factory visit has led us to this – the second in our collection, the Plus Court Sneaker. It’s an evolution of a style from our early days, the Ritchie, modelled on the tennis trainers of the ‘80s and ‘90s. And like its predecessor, it’s purposefully designed to wear from day to night, without looking out of place.
Arriving in five colourways, Kiss, Black, White, White Distressed, and Vintage White, it’s panelled from Italian leather, carefully selected for its lived-in look. On the lighter pairs, the rubber cup soles are slightly off-white, to give a subtle contrast, and add to their vintage aesthetic.
In the spirit of the Plus Duke, they’re covered in considered detailing, threaded with mohair-style laces, perforated with our Plus Trio, and lined with plush terry. The latter is more than just a design choice – it’s an homage to pairs of the past, that were once lined in towelling for total comfort. Nowadays, it’s a great fabric to wear all-day, from morning to evening.
