The Making of the Mary Jane

Over the past year we challenged ourselves to design, develop, refine and finally launch our take on the Mary Jane. Our first style exclusively for women, sampled more times than any other style to leave our London HQ and considered down to the finer details.

And, it was all worthwhile. By combining the most premium materials from across Europe, with the same shoemakers that know our Wilde Penny Loafers better than any else, we created something to be proud of.

Every detail has been meticulously considered, scrutinised, and refined, from the specific height of the sole, to the positioning of the straps and the custom printed lining. We went through more iterations of this shoe than any other that has come before; proving that sometimes the simplest of details and alternations are often the hardest.

The result is the Mary Jane, combining the the DNA of our best-selling cherry print and our signature loafer to create a style that is specifically built with the D+D girls in mind. A style of shoe typically made from leather or patent leather. So, this season we introduced our take on another classic. Arriving with our hand-painted - then digitally-rendered and printed - cherry across the insole and toe.

Launching Thursday 3rd October, initially in very limited numbers.

We are excited to share this with you all.
