The good life with Luka Sabbat
Luka Sabbat is a generational talent. Born into a family with its roots in fashion and raised between the design capitals of Paris and New York, Luka is a very real representation of what it means to be multi-faceted in the 21st century. Model, actor, director – if it’s creative, Luka’s putting his own spin on it.
That’s why he’s the face of Duke + Dexter x Playboy – bringing an element of modernity to a collaboration that celebrates the iconic past of one of the world’s most infamous publications, and the golden era that it saw it become the voice of freedoms, fun and pleasure.
“I’ve got lots of creative endeavours on at the moment – I’ve been focusing on film; both in front and behind the camera.” Explains Luka, who helped to give the Duke + Dexter x Playboy shoot a glamourous edge at Los Angeles’ famous La Dolce Vita restaurant: “The décor was really beautiful, and it really gave a sense of old Hollywood whilst still remaining current.”
However, Luka wasn’t the only one with a creative mind there: “Menelik Puryear was great to work with. He’s a brilliant up and coming photographer – and the stylist, George Cortina, as always, was classic and immense.”
Luka describes his own personal style as a casual mix of different collections without too much dull unity – something that’s reflected in his styling; cargo pants with penny loafers, plenty of texture and fits that focus on comfort and tasteful contrasts.
And the soundtrack playing in La Dolce Vita? Heaven by then legendary Rolling Stones.
