Factory Visit - D+D Clothing Edition

For SS24, we ventured into unchartered territory, exploring a world beyond footwear and leather goods.

It was time for D+D to take on apparel. Upholding the very same level of quality and eye for detail with which we made our name. An entirely unisex, elevated take on what garments could and should be. Featuring graphics custom made by our in-house designers, screen-printed across premium textile with the final product being handmade in Portugal.

For the aged aesthetic that we love at D+D, we distressed the print as a result of natural dying - opting for a slightly boxy, yet fitted oversized vintage aesthetic as the base for our first apparel capsule.

Each piece is built with everyday living in mind. No creasing. Wearable straight from your bedroom floor. Made by hand. Simple. That’s the D+D way.

Beyond how each piece looks, we made the conscious decision to prioritise manufacturer sustainability through water-based screen-printing, alongside organic vegetable and mineral dyes. This is a technique mastered by one of Europe’s finest factories where every litre of water is filtered and recycled until it can be used no more.

For summer months, we’ve settled on a GSM just light enough to avoid overheating, but heavy enough to be recognisably D+D. High quality, no corners cut and thought woven into every thread. A huge amount of love, care and obsessive detail has gone into creating these pieces over the past 14 months, and we hope that the same level of care goes into looking after them for years to come.
